So foreigners think they can get away with parking fines? Why doesn't the council lift the cars which have outstanding fines owed? Then the drivers will have to pay the fines to get the car back.

A lot of people who rent in Barnet are applying for 'rooms for rent' only to be told that once you have viewed and expressed an interest that it is a single let with only one contract and that all names then go onto this contract. This is particularly evident in the Golders Green area and it is because if it is deemed a multi occupational let the landlord is responsible for the council tax. I challenged this and refused to pay the council tax and the council then forced the landlord to pay. I would urge others to do the same. Also, as a multi occupation house, strict laws are in place by the council making it fit for such. This is a digraceful way for landlords to behave and something shoud be done about this.

My daughter and her partner have been receiving letters from bayliffs threatening action to take away items forceably from their home for unpaid fines also letters from several telephone companys in respect of contracts taken out on mobile phones at their address. They have had bailiffs call on them in the past. They are afraid to now leave their home incase they call, break in and take away goods.. This and many other speeding fines, even Building Societies letters etc., have been sent to their address and this has been going on now for over a year. All these letters are addressed to their neighbours next door. They have tried talking to the Police, the Council, contacting their local MP, but nobody seems to want to or be able to help them with this FRAUD. As these demands etc., do not have their name on them but the neighbours they are advised it is not Identity Fraud, but surely it is Fraud becuase it is misrepresentation. Can you help?

I read with interest that Barnet Primary Health Trust are concerned at the cost of missing appointments. I had an appointment for a blood test last week for 9.50 a.m. I arrived at the hospital at 9.30 and looked for a parking spot for nearly an hour and the gave up. There was no point in phoning the hospital because even if I could get through (unlikely), it was too late anyway. I then phoned Edgware hospital which took an hour, and they gave me an appointment for the end of February (which I will also miss). I decided to go to the walk in clinic at Chase Farm hospital where I waied for an hour and a half, but at least it was done. There was ample parking also.
